Our principles
We work integratively accompanying
the conventional treatment. We see the person as a whole, taking into account
his or her individual situation. Our complementary medicine services include acupuncture/TCM,
Mind Body Medicine, hypnosis, phytotherapy and other naturopathic treatments. Our innovative treatment options
combine the latest scientific evidence with profound experience in
complementary medicine.
Our interprofessional team has
special expertise supporting cancer patients and patients with functional and inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases.
We treat our patients, but also enable them
- to reduce chronic stress
- to cope with chronic symptoms
- to take an active role in the treatment of their symptoms
- to live a healthier life
Our services are specialized and we
don’t provide primary care. That’s why good cooperation with other clinics or
outpatient health care providers is of great importance for us.

Many of our services can be conducted digitally. We regularly adapt our services to the current situation and the needs of our patients and aim to support you with the treatments at the best.
Upon arranging the appointment we discuss with you the most appropriate format for your consultation and if applicable we will instruct you carefully regarding the digital consultation.

Services for cancer patients
At our outpatient clinic we provide consultations and group treatments for cancer patients interested in an additional
complementary medicine treatment.
We are committed to an
integrative oncology approach and adapt the treatments individually according to the patient`s needs and preferences. The therapies provided by our team to the patients are aligned with the patients’ cancer treatments.
Our innovative treatment options combine the latest scientific evidence from different fields with profound experience in complementary medicine.

Servcies for patients with functional and inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases
Functional gastrointestinal diseases, such as irritable bowel syndrome, often mean years of recurrent suffering for those affected. The symptoms also repeatedly provoke stress and thus further intensify the subjective complaint.
Chronic intestinal inflammations, such as Crohn's disease or Colitis Ulcerosa, are less frequent but are usually even more physically and mentally stressful in their symptoms.
A higher tolerance for stress can positively influence the progress of the disease and can possibly improve both the quality of life and digestive problems in the active stage of the disease and in remission.
The Institute for Complementary and Integrative Medicine has developed a range of therapies for functional and inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases in cooperation with the the Clinic for Gastroenterology of the University Hospital Zurich.
The referrals will be made by the
Clinic for Gastroenterology.

and needs. Our evidence-informed recommendations are based on Mind Body
Medicine, traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and naturopathy. We pay
particular attention to avoid interactions with your existing
medication. With our complementary medicine consultations via video, we can interact with you and treat you at your home. How do you get to us? - Call the doctor treating you and ask him or her to refer you to iki@usz.ch with your current list of diagnoses and medications.

you have mild symptoms and wonder what you can do to alleviate them? We
would be happy to treat you at home via video and discuss options from
complementary medicine (traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Mind Body
Medicine, naturopathy / phytotherapy). If medications are prescribed,
they will be mailed to you. How do you get to us? - Call the doctor treating you and ask him or her to refer you to iki@usz.ch with your current list of diagnoses and medications.
